A specialist in children’s diseases or problems. Some paediatricians are experts in particular types of disease or defects (e.g. Paediatric Cardiologist, or Paediatric Neurologist [specialist in brain and nerve diseases]). Others take a more general interest in the whole development of the child, physically and intellectually, and in a wide range of diseases and problems of infancy and childhood.
